Barb Kalar's hypnosis and counseling practice is located in Oshawa, a short drive on highway 401 from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  After working for two years in an office within a chiropractic clinic, Barb has chosen now to work out of her home office.  While more casual, but no less professional, concerns of her clients prompted this decision and she finds a home atmosphere provides a warm, tranquil environment that ensures peaceful sessions and a higher level of confidentiality for clients not always found in a clinic or office setting.  

Living in Oshawa for more than 30 years has enabled Barb to be involved in many community organizations, including the YWCA and  the Chamber of Commerce, as well as volunteering on the Board of Executives for many years with the Oshawa Church Hockey League. 

As a stay-at-home mother of three amazing sons, Barb pursued many interests through academic courses and classes.  For more than 25 years, Barb has been an entrepreneur as an income tax consultant, a bookkeeper for small businesses and a successful gift basket business owner celebrating 12 years of service this year.  All of these interests continue today and life is always busy.  However, the urge to teach and inspire was always present. 

In 1995 a family member's contract in Saudi Arabia took Barb to a part of the world where customs and beliefs are steeped in tradition.  A two month stay in Bahrain, a trip to Egypt, multiple visits to Dubai and two years living on several compounds in Saudi Arabia kindled the desire within her to empower people everywhere to live the life they truly desire and not merely move through their days seemingly helpless to change their circumstances. 

 In 2002, Barb was introduced to hypnosis through a remarkable teacher, mentor and now good friend, Glenda Bedard CH, and immediately felt drawn to the spiritual and healing qualities of this amazing practice.  While attending self hypnosis classes - books, people and opportunities began to enter Barb's life and a passion for helping others become self empowered became an obsession and passion she knew she must pursue.  

For the past nine years this passion has unfolded into a remarkable journey of discovery, not only for Barb, but for every client who comes into contact with her.  Through compassion, wit, humour and a genuine desire to see each and every individual attain their goals and objectives, Barb has managed to help clients find the tools and the strength to move forward into a brighter future of their making.  Barb especially enjoys working with children and finds them enchanting with their imagination and honesty.  Children respond very well to hypnosis as their preconceived notions and life experiences are limited.  Barb knows she can really help make a positive difference in people's lives when the desire for true change is present.

Barb is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, a Certified Master Hypnotist, a Certified 5-PATH Hypnotist, and a Certified 7-PATH Teacher. (PATH - Phase Advanced Transformational Hypnosis)
